Announcements, Monday, 12/10

December 10, 2018

Today is Monday, December 10th and it is an A Day.

ATTENTION TEACHERS, Please conduct the third ALICE lesson following morning announcements.  The link to the video as well as an attached map were emailed to you yesterday afternoon.

Attention Track & Field:  Track and Field Conditioning will take place on Mondays and Wednesdays after school instead of Tuesday and Thursday until the holiday break.

Tri-M will meet on Thursday, December 13th during high school Lunch in Dr. Harris’ room in the PAC.

Attention BSU members – we have a meeting after school TOMORROW to FINALIZE the program.  We will meet in Mr. LEMSTROM’S room this time, NOT Mr. Miller’s.

Hey, students!  Do you want to hear your teacher sing “The 12 Days of Christmas” over the announcements on the last day before Winter Break?  Bring any amount of money and put it in your favorite (or, maybe, not so favorite) teacher’s container. You can put in paper money or coins – it doesn’t matter – the teacher who has the most money in their container will be singing on the morning announcements.  The trio will include one elementary teacher, one middle school teacher, and one high school teacher. Make sure you fill those containers to make your teachers sing!

It’s time for our Toys for Tots toy drive!  P.K. Yonge’s National Honor Society is teaming up with the United States Marine Corps to collect toys for underprivileged children this holiday season.  We would like to provide a happy holiday for as many children as possible this year – and your generosity will help that happen! Please bring in NEW, UNOPENED, AND UNWRAPPED toys by Friday, December 14th. Bring them to Dr. Weller’s room (M-350) or look for the collection box before and after school up at the top circle.

There is a TON of stuff in lost and found.  Please claim your items in front of the cafeteria during lunch this week.  Everything will be donated to charity after Friday.

Congratulations to the Lady Wave, JV, and Varsity basketball teams for their big wins over Maclay on Friday night.

A huge congrats to Adrian Velez-Villanueva for being selected to play in the Honors Orchestra at Carnegie Hall this coming February.  This is an international event where students from all over the world audition to perform with this elite group, and he was selected to go to New York City for 5 days to participate in this prestigious Carnegie Hall performance. Way to go, Adrian!
