BIG Congratulations to our Swim & Dive Teams for their extraordinary performance at the State Finals.  Both the girls and the boys teams placed higher than we have ever placed in the history of the school — with girls coming in at 3rd and boys placing 7th in the state. Lain Shaboz won her second straight state championship in the 100 back. She is the first PKY swim athlete to win back-to-back state championships. We also had our first ever relay state championship in the 200 free relay.  Congrats to Nick Eunice, Trevor McGovern, Jack Poppell, and Jayden Herron. Trevor and Nick also scored runner-up finishes in their individual events. In addition we had a record number of athletes place in the top 16. Way to go, Blue Wave Swim & Dive Teams!

And at the State Track meet… On Saturday at the 2A State Cross Country Finals, Juliette Palechor ran a season best 20:07 5K to come in the top 40 in the state.  Great job, Juliette!

Pep Club members will get in free for the Girls Basketball Game on Today and Wednesday. Come out and support the Girls when they Take on Eastside at 7:30 tonight and GHS Wednesday at 7:30. If you haven’t signed up and would like to sign up.  Coach Powers will be at the Blue Benches by the Gym at High School Lunch.

On Saturday, November 16th from 9 AM to 12 noon, the Gainesville Area Chamber of Commerce will hold its 5th Annual Career Discoveries Day at Buchholz High School.  This provides an opportunity for middle and high school students to learn more about exciting career opportunities in Alachua County and the pathways to attain them.  To register, visit the PKY website announcements page for the link: http://bit.ly/careerdiscoveriesday
