This past Saturday the Blue Wave Marching Band competed in the Ocala Marching Band Festival. The band won its class by a sizeable margin, and once again won best in class music, visual, colorguard, General effect, and percussion. The percussion won best overall for the competition. The band finished third overall in the entire competition! Next up we have the Music Performance Assessment this Saturday 10/26 at Columbia High School in Lake City! Great Job Blue wave band!

Did you know that when pesticides are sprayed on plants to get rid of insects eating the plants, the pesticides also harm good insects that actually pollinate them, like bees and butterflies?  In the Pollinators Club we will educate people about the crisis pollinators and other animals are facing because of herbicides, pesticides, and other human activities. We will also help with the gardens here at P.K. and plant more.  Our first meeting will be TODAY during middle school lunch in room H121, the 7th grade Language Arts room. In order to come, you must get a lunch pass from Ms. Maghroui in room H121, or from Abigail Pruden at the bridge at the beginning of lunch.  All nature lovers welcome!

Boys’ Soccer tryouts are TODAY and TOMORROW top field 2:45 – 4:15 pm approx. On Wednesday, Coach De Leon will email and text the players who were chosen to be part of the final roster. He will also have a list in his room.  Thursday, we have our first practice together from 2:45 to 4:15 pm approx. After practice, we will have dinner together in De Leon’s room M345 so we can stay in school for our parent meeting at 6:00pm. This is a mandatory meeting. Boys’ Varsity Soccer will practice Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 2:45 to 4:15 approx. Players are expected to condition on their own Wednesdays and either Saturday or Sunday.

The P7 Bible Club will meet tomorrow during high school lunch in Mrs. Janicke’s room.
