Good morning! Today is Monday, February 13th.  BLACK HISTORY FACT! Union Academy, the first school for African Americans in Gainesville, was built by the Freedman’s Bureau during Reconstruction.  It was located south of eighth Avenue near Main Street.

Godspell

Come see Godspell! Prepare ye for the timeless tale of friendship, loyalty and love constructed as a group of parables based on the Gospel of Matthew and filled with favorite songs such as “Day by Day” and “We Beseech Thee” this a joyous celebration of friendship, love and devotion to high ideals. GODSPELL is a show for everyone. The show runs from Wednesday, February 15th -Saturday, February 18th. All at 7pm

Tickets are on sale  in the homestead app. Look for posters around campus with a QR code to purchase.

K/1 Coffee Co. 

Reminder for all middle and high school students that the K/1 coffee company will be selling hot coffee, cold brew, and hot chocolate for $5.00 by the student parking lot. Cash only. Every Friday. 

Seniors – College School Spirit

Seniors – do you know where you are going to college next year? Want to show your new school some spirit? The yearbook would love to feature you in your new school colors. Go to the senior canvas course to fill out the 1-question survey if you are interested in being on the college choice page. See Dr. Beckett, or yearbook students, for more information.

Candygrams 

Today is the last day to buy your Valentine’s Day Candygrams for  $1 during middle and high school lunch. Buy a treat for a friend and support a good cause.

Thespians Bake Sale

The Thespians Club will be having a Bake Sale from dismissal until 3pm today and tomorrow on the sidewalk by the student parking log. Please bring cash to grab some delicious treats and support those going to State Thespians!

Congrats Girls Basketball 

Congratulations to the varsity girls basketball team who defeated Trinity Christian 57-27 in their regional quarterfinal. Come support the blue wave tomorrow at 7 in the regional semifinal. Tickets will be on goFan

BSU

The Black Student Union will meet today, in Ms. Hemmerich’s room during High School Lunch. All are strongly requested and welcomed to attend. Additionally, the $10 for club shirts is due during Monday’s meeting.

Gospel Choir 

In preparation for the Black History Month performance, the Gospel Choir will rehearse tomorrow, Tuesday, Feb. 14th, in Ms. Hemmerich’s room during High School Lunch. All are strongly requested and welcomed to participate”

Grad Bash Tickets 

Seniors – remember tomorrow is the absolutely, positively LAST day to purchase Grad Bash tickets! The sooner you get your paperwork and payment in, the better your chance of choosing your bus. The paperwork needs to be signed by you and your parents and is available in the front office. The signed paperwork and your payment is due back in the business office (in Q wing by the chromebook help office). They are only open for ticket purchases before school, at lunch and after school. Plan ahead and don’t miss out

PK Giving Day 

PK Giving Day is this Thursday, February 16, and you can make a difference in the Blue Wave community by sharing what you love about PK and giving any dollar amount to PK.  Donations support high need areas on campus like elementary lunch sunshades and field trips. It’s almost time to Stand Up & Holler for PK!

Blood Drive 

The National Honor Society will host a LifeSouth Blood Drive this Friday, February 17th. LifeSouth representatives will be on campus this Thursday during high school lunch to sign students up. Please consider donating to save a life!
