Good morning! Today is Monday, December 5th. Happy Computer Science Education Week! Each day we will have fun facts about computers.

Congrats Girls Varsity Basketball

Congratulations to the varsity girls basketball team who defeated rival Florida High 49-46 on Saturday night. 

Congrats Girls Varsity Soccer 

Congratulations to the varsity girls soccer team who defeated Santa Fe 6-0 Friday night. Good luck Monday at Florida High.

Congrats Boys Varsity Soccer

Congratulations to the varsity boys soccer team who defeated North Marion 5-0 Friday night! Let’s go Blue Wave!

Congrats Thespians

Congratulations to our Thespian Troupe 4102 who competed at the One Act Festival on Friday and District 12 Thespian Festival on Saturday! EVERY single performance received the highest ratings, with an unprecedented 7 Excellent and incredible 9 SUPERIOR ratings! Ashlynn Price was acknowledged for the All Star casts for One Acts in acting, and Samantha Belmore was acknowledged for the All Star casts in technical theater.Our original Pantomime piece starring Ibrahim Seck, Lia Subramanian, Tessa Frenchman, Key Scales, Amira Souik, Ashlynn Price, Adam Becker, and Nikki Lajara received TOP HONORS and performed in the Showcase for every member  festival.Our Troupe was a stand out, and showed the whole district the talent and skill we have at PK Yonge.  Onward to Florida State Thespian competition in March! Go Thespians!

AP Lit Mock Exam Canceled 

Attention AP Lit students: the AP Lit Mock exam, scheduled to begin 4th period today has been canceled. Please report to your normally scheduled 4th period class. Please see your Canvas shell for information regarding this cancellation. The AP Lit Mock exam will be rescheduled for a date in the future.

Middle School Performing Arts Field Trip

Please excuse Mrs. Hemmerich’s 6th, 7th, and 8th grade performing arts students from their 1st period class at 8:50 AM to go to her room for their Hippodrome field trip.

Thespians! Everyone who competed Saturday at Districts! Please meet TUESDAY in the theater room at lunch. We need to discuss the showcase and States ASAP! Again that is Tuesday in the theater room at lunch!

MS Baseball Tryouts

Middle School Baseball Tryouts will be Tuesday, December 13 from 3-5:30. See Coach Brunson for more info.

Student-Faculty Basketball Game 

The annual Student-Faculty Basketball Game will take place on Friday, December 9 during the second half of fourth period. High schoolers can buy tickets at high school lunch starting today, and middle school students at lunch starting Monday. Tickets are $3 or a donation of three cans of food.
