December 6, 2021Good morning! Today is Monday, December 6th.
ATTENTION PK STUDENTS the 9th grade officers are bringing holiday grams!! Only 2$ starting Monday the 6th and ending Wednesday the 15th. Fill out the holiday card to place your order in the front office by doing the following: Who you want to give it to, who it’s from, and their homeroom. Make sure to get them quick so Santa and his reindeers can deliver them to you as soon as possible!!
There will be a BSU meeting Thursday December 9th in Mr Courtney’s classroom. The deadline to join BSU is December the 17th. If you cannot make it to the meeting, please reach out to Mr. Courtney or BSU President Ashawna Smith
Will the students beat the faculty, or will the faculty maintain their winning record? Come to the Student-Faculty basketball game on Thursday to find out! This is a charity event, and tickets are $3 or 3 cans of food. Tickets are on sale daily at lunch. Don’t wait…avoid the crowds and buy yours today!
Due to the amount of litter on the ground, there will be no grass area play time or eating in the grass for middle school lunch this week. There will also be no after school grass time as well. Please pick up your trash
Congratulations to our Thespian Troupe 4102 who competed at the District 12 Thespian Festival on Saturday! EVERY single performance PK took to the festival received highest ratings, with an unprecedented 9 Excellent and incredible 12 SUPERIOR ratings! In addition, our duet acting scene from TRUE WEST starring Neo Geiger and Jaxson Christie, and our original Pantomime piece starring Ibrahim Seck, Lia Subramanian, Jaxson Christie, Eden Smith, Faith Franck, Neo Geiger, Landon Bishop, and Gabbi Luna BOTH received TOP HONORS and performed in the Showcase performance for every member of the festival. Isabel Hansen won the logo contest and cash prize, with all participants proudly wearing her design on festival shirts. Our Troupe was a stand out at the festival and showed the whole district the talent and skill that we have at PK Yonge. Onward to Florida State competition in March! Go Thespians!
Middle School Baseball Tryouts will be held at 2 PM on Wednesday, 12/8. To participate in tryouts, you must have turned in a completed physical form to Coach Barrett. Forms are available on the website or in the front office. Reach out to Coach Brunson with any questions. JV and Varsity Baseball tryouts will take place on Monday, January 17th at 1 PM.
Due to Testing, the bells will be turned off for periods 1-3
Today begins our Countdown to the Holidays with Holiday Trivia.
Each day, Dr. Geiger will provide a question, the number to call, and the number caller you need to be to win. This will happen immediately after the pledge. Listen up for a chance to win the trivia contest! Winners will be announced on the following day and will be entered into a drawing for a prize. Remember, phones should only be out with a teacher’s permission. You can participate as individuals or as a class.
Wednesday, 12/15 — Festive Feet Day — Wear your favorite holiday socks!
Thursday, 12/16 is Schoolwide Ugly Sweater Day.
Friday, 12/17 is Schoolwide Pajama Day. Pajamas need to still meet dress code requirements.
