Good morning! Today is Monday, September 14th.

The food truck will be on campus today during A & B lunch periods.  It will be located outside of the gate on the west side of the cafeteria.  Remember, that all students can get a free lunch through December, and that includes the food truck.

We are so excited to announce our new club–ECO, or the Environmental Conservation Organization! Any high school student who is interested in helping or learning more about our environment is encouraged to join us. Our first meeting will be today at 12:15 in Ms.  Renee Andrews’ Zoom classroom.  Contact Ms. Andrews for the link. Hope to see you there!

The All-Girl High School Robotics Team, The Mechanical Mermaids, is now Accepting Applications for the 2020-2021 FIRST Technical Challenge competition season. If you’d like to apply and interview for a potential position on the team in design, graphics, engineering, computer-aided design, marketing, business, technical robot building and programming, or other leadership opportunities, please contact the Coach – Leigh Anne Brewster at labrewster@pky.ufl.edu or by calling 352-392-1554 extension 245 and leaving a voice message.  Please note that due to team size regulations, the number of open positions on the team is limited. Applications will be accepted through September 18th.

Student government elections will take place today for  9th and 11th grade. Candidate statements as well as the links for voting are available on your ELA canvas pages. Also. Attention Seniors – we have a tie in the Treasurer race.  Please vote through Canvas by 8 pm tonight.  Winners in all the races will be announced on Tuesday, Sept. 15th.

Important Reminder:  In order for your Chromebooks to function properly, they need to be shut down completely on a nightly basis.  Please remember to shut down and charge your Chromebook each evening before using it the following day.

Congratulations to the Blue Wave football team for their HUGE win over Eastside High School on Friday night.  Senior Night was made even sweeter by their 44-21 dub. Way to go, Blue Wave!
