Good morning! Today is Monday, May 10th and it is N day. I hope you wore a necktie, necklace, or neon colors! . Tomorrow is M day — Wear a mustache, mismatched clothes or dress like a mermaid. The entire Z-A Countdown can be found on the website under the Announcements tab.
Thank you to Mr. Moody, Mrs. Koppitch, the Junior Class officers, and the PKY Administration for a wonderful prom on Saturday night! Thank you for making the evening memorable for everyone who attended.
Reminder that students wishing to take a virtual course as a period in their schedule during the school day next year, must have a signed and completed PKY virtual contract returned to Mr. Chambliss or Mrs. Theiss by TODAY. Classes taken outside of the school day do not require a contract. Please reach out to them if you have questions.
Interested in Cross County or Golf for fall 2021? Please come to an informational meeting on Wednesday, May 12th right afterschool in the cafeteria.
Are you interested in joining the P.K. Yonge Colorguard? We will be having an interest meeting on Thursday May 13th at 6:30pm in Mr. Marski’s zoom room. Stop by the band room at ANY time for more information! Join the Colorguard this upcoming season!
Congratulations to the following track and field athletes who excelled at the state meet this Saturday. Jaren Hamilton placed 4th in the 200 meter, Nymera Presley placed 3rd in the 100 meter hurdles and our newest state champion-Zuriel Reed who won the 300m hurdles!
Come out and congratulate the following Blue Wave athletes who are signing this week: Juliette Palechor and Chloe MacLaren sign soccer scholarships this Wednesday at 2:15 in the gym and Adrian Bloodsworth signs his basketball scholarship this Thursday at 3:15 in the gym.
Way to go Blue wave athletes, we are very proud of you.
Attention 8th, 9th, 10th, and 11th graders!
It’s time to elect next year’s grade officers and student body officers.
If you are interested in running for an office:
- Create a video of a speech (under 2 min) telling us why you are the best candidate for the office.
- Save your video with your name, and the grade level and office you’re running for (PeterPan_9thSecretary, Tinkerbell_11thPresident)
- Upload that video to your P.K. Yonge Googledrive.
- Share your video with firstname.lastname@example.org on Google.
- Specify the office you are running for in your submission (9th Grade Treasurer, etc.)
- Submit your speech video by Friday, May 14
Only rising 11th and 12th graders may run for the student body offices.

The Exceptional Student Scholarship Assistance, Inc. scholarship applications are available with Mr. Chambliss and Mrs. Theiss. Contact them for application and more details. Deadline to submit is May 15th!
Seniors, just a reminder that if you are looking to be awarded the Bright Futures Scholarship, you must apply if you have not already done so! Go to the website, www.FloridaStudentFinancialAidsg.org and follow the directions to apply. REMEMBER deadline to apply is August 31st 2021. Deadline for test scores has been extended until December 1st of 2021 for this year’s Seniors. If you have questions, please reach out to Mr. Chambliss or Mrs. Theiss.
