Good morning! Today is Monday, March 14th

Gainesville Fire Rescue is hiring non certified applicants that want to pursue a career in Public Safety. Applicants may attend the Fire Academy in the fall of 2022. They will receive pay and insurance benefits while attending the required Training Academies. This is a great opportunity for students not planning to attend college to start a lifelong career.

 They say “Life is a cabaret”, so come and see ours! PKY Performing Arts will present an evening Cabaret show on APRIL 1st. Tickets are on sale on the school website and the Hometown tickets app. Come see a variety of great performances and support your friends and classmates as they feature their talents in our Cabaret!

JV and Varsity Football Cheer Try-outs will be held on Thursday, March 31st and Friday, April 1st from 4-6pm in the gymnasium.  Please pick-up your cheerleading try-out packet from the main office. Packets must be turned in by Wednesday, March 30th at 3pm.

Congratulations to the PK Yonge Odyssey of the mind teams. Elementary teams placed 5th and 4th in their problems. And a big phat yippie kayae to the high school team (Faith, Lia, Ibb, Stella, TJ, Jaxson, and Devoney) who got first place, are state champions, and are advancing to worlds! Congratulations Omers!

Congratulations to the high-school robotics team – Roaring Riptide!

Attending the Orlando Regional Competition this past week and weekend, they placed in the top half of 57 teams, were selected as a 5th seed alliance partner and won their semifinals best 2 out of 3!

Here’s what the judges had to say about Roaring Riptide –

“During the course of the competition, the judges panel may decide that a team’s unique efforts, performance, or dynamics merit recognition yet  do not fit into any of the existing award categories.

This team bubbled to the top of many judges lists.

The team’s operation, membership, outreach, and machine process are better than a trip to the beach.

The judges want to FLOAT the Servant Leadership Award to Team 4118 – Roaring Riptide!”
