Congratulations to Jacob Sedesse!
Because of the exceptionally high score he received on his Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) PowerPoint 2016 exam, he has been named Florida Champion and selected to compete in Certiport’s 2017 Microsoft Office Specialist U.S. National Championship.
Jacob will be traveling to Orlando in June and competing against students from all around the country!
The January Scholarship letter is now available! Look for it in a few places: the school website, on Student Government Twitter, and on School Counseling Twitter. If you have any questions about the scholarships or other opportunities listed, come see Ms. Bryen.
Athletics
Congrats to the JV boys’ basketball team on their 55-50 victory over Eastside high school last night.
Congrats to the Varsity boys’ basketball team on their 59-53 defeat of Eastside high school last night.
Congrats to the MS girls’ basketball team – they beat Ruth Rams MS last night and are SMAC conference champs! Great season!
Good Luck to our Boys’ Basketball vs. Hawthorne (H); JV at 6:00 pm, Varsity at 7:30 pm.
Clubs
Science Olympiad will be meeting on Monday’s, Wednesday’s and Friday’s during Middle School lunch in Ms. Sheppard’s room-N-385 until February 3rd to prepare for our upcoming competition.
Come and join the Hispanic Honor Society today after school for TEC Day (Tacos, Empanadas and Croquetas). Please come and see us by the gym and art building area. All proceeds will go towards upcoming competitions.
Key Club members–please remember that the “Great Invader Rally” is Saturday. Please meet at J J Finley school at 9 a.m. The event runs for most of the morning.
The national Junior Honor Society will meet next Tuesday, 1/31 during lunch in Dr. Cordero’s room I-110 to discuss upcoming events.
Teachers and students: Don’t be left out. Tuesday, Jan 31, is the final day for submitting work for the 10th anniversary issue of Creeks and Currents lit mag. See or email Mrs. Harrell J-311 if you need further information. The magazine will go on sale in May.
Seniors
The senior class picture and lifer picture will be Monday February 6 at 12:15, at the top field. Feb.6 will also be the absolute last day to email Mr. Holt your baby picture and complete your senior questionnaire on the yearbook webpage.
