Good morning, Blue Wave.  Today is Friday, May 4th and it is an A Day!

ANNOUNCEMENTS:

 

Today is T Day which means it is twin or triplet day and you can wear tan, turquoise, or a tutu. Monday is S day, which means dress up like a story book character or wear silly or striped socks.

 

Health Smart Tip of the DayTry to do physical activity for at least 60 minutes every day. You do not need money or equipment to stay active. You can dance, walk the dog, or play on a playground. Playing on a school or recreational sports team is also a great option. Staying active will help keep your bones and muscles healthy!

 

Attention PKY students, this week is your last chance to pre-order a yearbook. Please visit the business page of the PKY website to order a copy today. All pre-ordered copies will be distributed May 7 & 8. Any remaining copies will then be sold to those who have not pre-ordered. Don’t miss out!!!

 

 

Do you want to spend your summer diving into springs and exploring swamps? Do you want to empower yourself as leader for Florida’s environment and communities? Join the Young Leaders for Wild Florida, a two-week environmental leadership summer program for teens in Alachua County.  If you are ages 16-19 and interested please visit Walk for Wild Florida’s website and select Young Leadersfor Wild Florida.

 

 

Campaigning for Student Council offices continues today. Please respectfully campaign for your accepted offices until Monday May 14th using flyers, posters, and social media. Remember—you cannot change the office that you are running for after Wednesday, May 9. All speeches must be shared as a google doc on Wednesday May 9th.

 

Juniors! There will be a Senior Project review session today in the PAC during Power Hour at 11:50am. All Juniors should be in attendance for this important information session. Come prepared to find out information about choosing a topic and beginning the research process. We look forward to seeing all Juniors in the PAC today at 11:50am

 

The application process for all sixth and seventh grade students interested in becoming a member of the National Junior Honor Society is open. The requirements include a cumulative 3.4 GPA for 7th grade students and proficient in all core classes for 6th grade students.  Interested students must complete an application form that is available on the club page of the school website.  Students can also get an application for directly from Dr. Cordero or Dr. Breil.  The application is due Friday, May 18th.

 

 

Seniors:

Seniors, please vote for the Master of Ceremonies at graduation!

There is a link on Mr. Bice’s class page, Mr. Beyer’s class page, on Mr. Fabulich’s class page, as well as the Upperclassmen Page on the website.  The system is set up to monitor that each student only votes once.  You will need your PK Yonge Google login information in order to access the link.  Voting is open now and ends on May 9th.  The MC will be announced at the Senior Awards night on May 14th.

Attention all boys interested in varsity soccer for next fall:

There will be a meeting in Coach Fabulich’s room, Z-1152, today during power hour. Please be there by 12pm.

Seniors, please remember to fill out a “Final” transcript request form and turn in to Mrs. Flinchum or Ms. Bryen to have your transcript sent to the College you are going to attend.
