Good morning, Blue Wave.  Today is Friday, January 19th and it is a B Day! Dismissal time today will be at 2:30.  The new schedule for later dismissal does not take effect until next week.

ANNOUNCEMENTS:

Love seafood? Come to the Marine Science fish fry! It’s happening from 3–6 p.m. THIS Sunday at Northwest Seafood.  Tickets are only $10 and can be purchased from Ms. Andrews (in O-362) or any Marine Science Club member. Help us fund our trip to the Keys!

Congratulations to the Varsity Girls’ Soccer team on their UNDEFEATED regular season! The girls went 15-0 and outscored their opponents 105-12!!

School Counseling:

Your school counselors would like to remind you about the process for making an appointment to see us.  Here are the steps:

  1. Come to entrance of the counseling office, which is located on the side of the main office near the outside stairs.
  2. Make a left after entering and you will see the program assistant’s desk.
  3. There are pink “request for an appointment” forms on top of the desk.
  4. Fill out a form.
  5. The Program assistant will give the form to the appropriate counselor.
  6. The counselor will schedule an appointment and then send a pass.

Please make an appointment to see your school counselor whenever you have an issue, concern, question, need a little assistance or just want to talk.

The January Scholarship Newsletter is available! There are many scholarships for seniors particularly, so please visit the PK Yonge website or the School Counseling Twitter to take a look.

Power Hour:

Attention Seniors – come to the library for Senior Sessions on Monday.  We will be available to help you with Financial Aid, Bright Futures and other scholarships.

The Black Student Union is meeting in Ms. Boehm’s room today during Power Hour.  We have a lot to cover and organize, so please bring your lunch and we can work straight through.

The Great Kindness Challenge is here!! You will be challenged to perform as many kind deeds as you can in one week.  Please participate!  Make your friends and schoolmates smile! Stop by Acts of Random Kindness Club’s table today during lunch and power hour to learn more!
