Good morning! Today is Friday, August 27th and TODAY is grandma Weller’s birthday!!!!

Boys JV and Varsity Soccer will kick off their season with daily practice from 6 to 8pm starting on October 18. They will have run tryouts on October 18 and 19. Please stay tuned to our social media feed @pkyboyssoccer

The football team takes on Eastside tonight at Citizens field where The Blue Wave plan to make the Rams–GET—THEM—-HOT!!! You can purchase your tickets on the GoFan APP. We encourage to join your blue wave team as we intend to “white out” Citizen’s field by wearing all white uniforms! Thank you for your support and GO BLUE WAVE”

The National Honor Society will have its first meeting this Friday, August 27th, during high school lunch. Both new and veteran members should get their lunch and meet around the big tree between the secondary building and the 6th St. parking lot. Please email Ms. Roach with questions.

 Do you love music and performing? Are you interested in community service and making a difference? Join Tri-M Music Honor Society, the national music honor society for students. To be eligible, you need to maintain at least a B average in your classes, be enrolled in a music ensemble, and be interested in using your musical skills to serve your community.  If you are interested in joining Tri-M, meetings will be in the PAC Choir room every second Monday of the month. Our first official meeting is on Sept. 13. Sign up before that meeting on the Club Page Google Form on PKYonge’s website.

Please remember that you can still give your donation to UNICEF to help Haiti until this Friday. Please bring your donations to the cafeteria during High School lunch. Also feel free to join UNICEF this Friday during lunch in classroom L-356. We are currently accepting new members.

 “Any middle school or high school girls interested in playing softball for the fall and/or spring season there will be an interest meeting on August 31st at the cafeteria at 2:30pm right after school ends. Blue Wave GSA will meet today during high school lunch.  We will initially meet in the courtyard in front of the new secondary building, then move to an agreed-upon location together to eat lunch and plan for the semester.  Hope to see you there!

Attention 9th-12th graders: Ballots are open to vote for grade officers and Student Body Officers.  Go to your grade’s link in Canvas TODAY at 2:00 to vote for your officers.  If you had trouble voting yesterday, try again – the links have been fixed.  For any questions, see Mr. Bourn.

There will be an Odyssey of the Mind interest meeting on Tuesday August 31st in Mr. Moody room after school.  If you like to think outside the box and have a creative mind this club might interest you, Come Find out what its about.

Congratulations to the golf team who went one and one yesterday defeating St. Francis and losing to Oak Hall by 1 stroke. Low medalist of the match was Ian Lentz and Katelyn Huber who both shot a 1 over par 36.
