April 16, 2021

Good morning! Today is Friday, April 16th.

Congratulations also to the Blue Wave Varsity Baseball Team for their 13-0 win over Peniel last night.  Emma Mansfield made Blue Wave Baseball history (or herstory!) for being the first ever female starting pitcher.  Emma pitched the entire game, a shut-out, with 9 strike-outs and took the win. Way to go, Emma, and way to go, Blue Wave!

Please remember that the school phone policy applies to the Commons areas as well as other learning spaces.  During class periods, phones should be put away and students should be engaged in academic activities unless a teacher explicitly directs otherwise.

Do you want a delicious dozen krispy kreme donuts? Of course you do! Please see ANY high school band member to purchase your digital dozen coupon for just $10! That’s right, JUST $10!!

Is your car in need of a good wash to get rid of all that pollen and dirt? Well you’re in luck because the PKY Blue Wave Band is having a car wash on Saturday, April 17, 2021 from 9am-3pm in front of the auditorium. Tickets are $7 and will be sold until Friday, April 16, 2021. Please see any high school band member OR Mr. Marski to purchase a ticket! Support the band!

Congrats to Joe Locke on winning the University of Florida, Superior Accomplishment award for his outstanding service to P.K. Yonge and the University of Florida. Joe was one of 8 winners from across the University including UF Health Shands. We are honored to have Joe Locke as part of our Blue Wave family! When you see Mr. Locke on the sidewalks, be sure to congratulate him.

This is a reminder to students who have classes in the new secondary building.  During class changes, the only doors that automatically unlock are the mosaic doors — the doors near the blue and green glass windows.

Reminders from Mrs. V:

The front doors near the sculptures remain locked except for first thing in the morning.  Please use the mosaic doors for entry into the new building throughout the day.

If you are using the Commons area, remember the following:
— Each student needs to be on a chair.
— Keep the furniture where it is.
— Do not sit on the floor.

Please stand for the pledge: I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

Have a great day, Blue Wave!
