October 25, 2019

Today is Friday, October 25th, and it is a B Day.

Congratulations to the Girls Cross Country Team, which placed second at the district meet and will advance to regionals. Juliette Palechor led the girls team with a fifth place finish. On the boys side, congratulations to Ian Flores-Rodrigues, who placed 14th and will advance to the regional meet.

Members of the homecoming court, please meet Coach Barrett on Tuesday, October 29th at 2:30pm in the PAC.  This will be your dress rehearsal for High Tide and for the football game on Friday, November 1st.

There will be an important Blue Wave GSA meeting today during high school lunch–PAY ATTENTION MEMBERS–we will meet in Ms. Haas Moskowitz’ room (L-353) since Ms. Andrews is out of town.  We need to plan for the parades and for our fundraiser.

Did you know that when pesticides are sprayed on plants to get rid of insects eating the plants, the pesticides also harm good insects that actually pollinate them, like bees and butterflies?  In the Pollinators Club we will educate people about the crisis pollinators and other animals are facing because of herbicides, pesticides, and other human activities. We will also help with the gardens here at P.K. and plant more.  Our second meeting will be on Monday October 28th, during middle school lunch in room H121, the 7th grade Language Arts room. In order to come, you must get a lunch pass from Abigail Pruden at the bridge at the beginning of lunch, or use your lunch pass from the last meeting.  All nature lovers welcome!

National Honor Society members who are on the Toys for Tots Leadership Team will meet with Dr. Weller in her classroom during lunch on Monday, 10/28.  This meeting is only for the NHS members who signed up to be on the Leadership Team for Toys for Tots.

Come see the fall play, GAME OF TIARAS, TONIGHT and Saturday night at 7 PM.

Attention all middle schoolers – Are you interested in joining a club to discuss various topics related to Feminism? Then join us! We’ll get together every Monday after school to share snacks and debate about issues relating to women today. Feminist Club will meet in Mrs. Montgomery’s room (I-110) on Mondays from 2:20-3:00. All Middle Schoolers are welcome! Hope to see you there!

Students:
As a reminder, no middle school or high school students should be entering the elementary building following dismissal. Students who are waiting for elementary siblings should wait on the north-end blue benches. Otherwise, students should go directly to the south-end of campus when dismissed from school. Thank you!
