March 18, 2021

Good morning! Today is Thursday, March 18th

Congratulations to the JV Baseball Team for their 17-4 win over Eastside last night.  Way to go, Blue Wave!

TODAY during lunch the Climate Action Club will be selling handmade chokers, reusable face wipes, and scrunchies. All proceeds will go to helping raise awareness about climate change and to environmental nonprofits. Come check out our zero-waste fundraiser made from reused items! Pictures of our products are on Instagram @pky_climate_action_club.

Seniors – you must have 75 hours of community service TURNED IN by April 1st in order to graduate.  Please be aware of the date.

Seniors – please check your canvas course for the Senior Project. Everything is due TODAY.  If you have questions, please contact Dr. Haas-Moskowitz.

Class-specific t-shirts are on sale until TOMORROW.  Shirts are $11.50 and we have a different color for 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th graders.  We also have a black shirt for everyone that is not grade-specific.  Look for the fliers around school for the website or QR code, or go to this link: https://pkyfundraiser2021.itemorder.com/sale which you can access through the Announcements section of the PK website.  This is turning into a competition between the Freshmen, Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors. The Seniors are ahead by ONE t-shirt. Come on, underclassmen! Don’t let the Class of 2021 out-bling you!

Today we will answer a couple more “Because You Asked” questions.

Is there a garden on the roof of the new building? (People are saying that, but I don’t know if its true.) If so, who is allowed to go up there and help? There is a space for a rooftop garden attached to Mrs. Davis’s biology classroom on the third floor. There is not a garden yet, but hopefully there will be one day! Mrs. Davis will decide who gets to help take care of the space.
What are the camera people doing? Are they just making a video about the new building or something? There have been several folks coming to campus to take pictures and videos — some were helping us document the progress of the campus revitalization; some were here to take pictures for the builders. Everyone is very proud of the way this project turned out and how quickly it was completed despite the additional challenges COVID presented.

National Art Honor Society will be meeting today and every Thursday in Mr. Moody’s class at 2:30. See you there!

Please stand for the pledge: I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

Have a great day, Blue Wave!
