February 10, 2025

Good morning, Blue Wave. Today is Monday, February 10th

Friends of Dudley Farm

“The Friends of Dudley Farm” are looking for student actors to help with a reenactment fundraiser on March 22-23, during spring break. Those students who participate will  earn volunteer hours by serving as ‘extras’ or as actors. If you are interested in this opportunity, email Dr. Geiger for contact information.

Congrats Soccer Teams

Both soccer teams advanced to regional play.  Join us Tuesday, February 11th, for the Regional semifinal soccer games. Girls play at 5 pm and the boys play at 7 pm.

To fuel your fandom, the delicious Fat G BBQ Food Truck will be on site from 4:45 PM to 8:00 PM, serving up mouthwatering BBQ and refreshing beverages. Come hungry and ready to cheer!

Hidden Ducks

Student Government has hidden ducks in the commons, no hallways, on all three floors. Look for them all this week and make sure to find the golden ducks with ribbons!! Golden duck winners will receive a free birthday duck with a note, candy, and goodie for your friends’ birthday or your own. If you find any please give them to Mrs. Koppitch or Student Government on Tuesdays or Thursdays between 8-9am. Get searching!

February Resilience Skills

The resilience skills of the month of February are Responsibility & Responsible Decision-Making. Responsibility is all about owning your actions, using good judgment, and practicing self-control. Responsible decision-making is thinking about all options and possible outcomes to make the best choice. Barack Obama is quoted as saying, “The choices we make about the lives we live determine the kinds of legacies we leave”.

Spring Sports

Spring sports have started! Check out the athletic schedule on the PKY Athletics website, PKY Athletics Instagram and the calendar in the commons.

Baseball Community Service

If you are a high school student who needs community service hours and would like a super easy way to earn them, talk to Coach Brunson or Dr. Geiger about working the gate at home baseball games.

Seniors – if you’re not checking your canvas announcements, or reading the senior newsletter you could be missing out on money in your pockets! Several scholarship opportunities have been posted, as well as information about Grad Bash, school day SAT and ACT tests, and more. Please keep up to date so you don’t miss out.
