Today is Friday, November 17. 

Congrats MS Basketball

Congratulations to the middle school boys basketball team for their 1st win of the season versus Interlachen.  The final score was 48-27.  Go Blue Wave!!!

Congrats Varsity Girls Basketball

Congratulations to the Lady Wave Varsity Girls Basketball team on their win against Bradford! The final score was 67-42. 

Congrats JV and Varsity Boys Soccer

The Boys Soccer program goes to Thanksgiving break undefeated. JV and Varsity beat Hamilton 7-1 and 5-0, respectively. For JV, Fisher Cooper netted a brace. Nico Masengale, Diego Briceno, Isaiah Bayon, Lucas Young, and Dariel De Leon also scored. Rowan Foley, Carson Hass and Cooper Schackow had assists. For Varsity, Addisu Frisbie netted a brace and 2 assists. Davy Coleman, Nathan Goble and Jaxon Ortiz also scored, while Mark Barrett and Sebatiaan Hochmann also had assists.

Penny Wars

Penny Wars are on again! Last time the senior class won by a large margin in the high school competition and the 7th grade won for middle school. Get your grade level ahead! Bring in your loose change this week. The jars are in the library commons area and marked by grade level.

MS Baseball

Middle School Baseball tryouts will be held November 29 at 7pm at Diamond Sports Park. Make sure to sign up on Gatorball. 

Food Drive

The annual food drive has started. Please bring in any nonperishable items and deliver them to your grade level box. Middle school boxes will be in their wings and high school boxes will be on the first floor. All food donated will go to the Bread of the Mighty Food Bank. The middle grade and high school grade with the most items will win a popsicle party.

Clay Electric Youth Tour

Juniors, are you looking to build your resume for college application?  Clay Electric has sponsored a Youth Tour to Washington, DC Contest.  The program provides one 11th grade student from 30 different high schools the opportunity to represent their school in a contest consisting of a written quiz and speech contest, all expenses paid.  One PK Yonge student will be selected to go to Tallahassee for an all-expense paid trip to visit the capital and compete in the contest.   The winner of the speech contest and written exam will travel to Washington, D.C. for an all-expense paid trip.  You will meet legislators and tour historic places.  For more information, see Mrs. McElroy or Ms. Corbin.

OM Fundraiser

Attention Middle and High school students, The Odyssey of the Mind club will be holding a fundraising event during Middle and High School Lunch during the week of November 13th through 17th.

Come Guess to win a prize at the estimation Jars.  $1.00 Dollar per guess, you could win a Jar full of goodies or have multiple guesses and win more. A table will be set up in front of the cafeteria during both lunch times.

Winners will be announced  at the end of the day Friday, November 17. 

Deck the Halls 

Want to contribute to the schoolwide winter competition and win your grade level points towards the big end-of-the year prize? Bring your own materials and go all out on decking your grade level’s hall December 11th-15th, from 2:40 pm to 4:00 pm. Each grade has been assigned a theme and wing entrance to decorate, which goes as follows: 

  • 6th graders: north pole, 2nd floor orange wing. 
  • 7th graders: peppermint forest, 2nd floor green wing. 
  • 8th graders: Polar Express, 2nd floor blue wing. 
  • Freshmen: Elf, 3rd floor green wing. 
  • Sophomores: Frosty, the Snowman, 3rd floor blue wing. 
  • Juniors: gingerbread house, 1st floor green wing. 
  • Seniors: Whoville, 1st floor blue wing. 

Please be mindful that you may only decorate the doors and windows, and materials that can ruin the windows and paint (including duct tape, glue, hot glue, and paint) and tripping hazards will not be allowed. Judges will announce their choices for the best elementary school, middle school and high school hall on the last week before winter break, so make sure to be creative and show off your festive spirit!

Senior Yearbook Quotes

Seniors! Want to impart your knowledge to future PK students? Have words of wisdom to pass on? The yearbook wants to hear them. Senior quotes are due by Friday, Dec. 8th. Fill out the form in the Senior Canvas Page. No late entries will be accepted.
