National Custodians Day

Today is National Custodians Day. The day in which we recognize those who work hard to keep our school clean and tidy. These folks take pride in making sure your learning environment is at its best, so you can be at your best. So please join us in recognizing our amazing custodial staff lead by Maggie Conley and Julian Palechor. The staff consists of the amazing Trace Williams, Andrez Fox, Joy Bokins, Johnathon Vargus and Jarrod Jones. When you see our Building Services crew, please tell them thank you for all they do!

Congrats Football

Congratulations to the Blue Wave football team for their victory over the Santa Fe raiders 28-27 on Friday night. Way to play, wave!

Food Truck to Celebrate Hispanic Month

In celebration of the Hispanic Month, we will have the Maracucha Food truck (from Venezuela) until 3:15 on Tuesday. 

Welcome Back Ms. Bogart

Welcome back to our middle school counselor, Mrs. Devin Bogart!  Our faculty, students, and counseling team are fortunately to have your wisdom, kindness, and strength. 

Gym Closing at 3

The gym is closing at 3 today for those not engaging in practice. 

Cafeteria West Line Closed 

The west line of the cafeteria will be closed this week.  Please plan accordingly. 

Powderpuff

There will be a brief meeting for all powderpuff players today at lunch in front of the school cafeteria windows. Please look for Coach Barrett. 

Global Awareness Club

The Global Awareness club is looking for dancers, singers and musicians for the Culture Festival on November 7th. Please see Mrs. Santiago before school, during lunch or after school if you are interested in participating and receiving Community service hours. 

Girls Basketball Interest Meeting 

Do you want to be a PK Blue Wave Ball-HER? 6th grade to 12th grade girls are welcome to come to a Girls Basketball interest meeting on Tuesday, October 3 at 3:00 in the cafeteria. No commitment required. We’d love to see you there! Go Blue Wave!

Pre-Collegiate Club 

Are you interested in exploring different colleges and universities? Come to an interest meeting of the Pre-Collegiate Club on Monday, October 2nd during High School Lunch in the first-floor commons.  This club is open to Juniors and Seniors. 

Blood Drive

One Blood will be here Sept 29- Oct 4 for sign up to donate blood on October 5. You will need a valid ID and be 16 or older. Sign up will be during high school lunch. If you have questions, see an NHS member or Dr. Bolejack.

Voter Registration

Attention all high schoolers age 16 and up:  Are you registered to vote? If not PK Student Government invites you to stop by the cafeteria any day from October 2nd to the 5th during high school lunch to register. All you need is your ID and the last four digits of your social security number. Register to vote so that you can make a difference. See you there!

High Tide

Calling all Blue Wave students and staff, High Tide is right around the corner. Come out and feel the P.K Yonge school spirit with this year’s High Tide, featuring games, music, and much more on Wednesday, October 11th at 7 P.M! Tickets are $5.00 on the HomeTown Ticketing App. Check the TV’s in the commons for more information and the QR code to purchase tickets. Hope to see you there!

MS Art Competition

PK is holding a competition for 6th-8th grade students who would like the chance to have their artwork hanging in our State Capitol! The Art in the Capitol Competition will be accepting submissions now through the deadline of Monday, October 16th. Please bring your submissions to either Mr. Moody or Ms. Johnson no later than October 16th. The winner will be announced Monday, October 25th. See Mr. Moody or Ms. Johnson if you have any questions!
