Home Football Game

Gym Closing

The gym is closing at 3 today for those not engaging in practice. 

National English Honors Society 

There will be a National English Honors Society meeting today during at HS lunch in Mrs. Franklin’s room 336 green and any students in grades 11-12 interested in joining, running for an officer position, or just learning more about the club should attend. 

Girls Basketball Interest Meeting

Do you want to be a PK Blue Wave Ball-HER? 6th grade to 12th grade girls are welcome to come to a Girls Basketball interest meeting on Tuesday, October 3 at 3:00 in the cafeteria. No commitment required. We’d love to see you there! Go Blue Wave!

Pre-Collegiate Club 

Are you interested in exploring different colleges and universities? Come to an interest meeting of the Pre-Collegiate Club on Monday, October 2nd during High School Lunch in the first-floor commons.  This club is open to Juniors and Seniors. 

Health Science Club 

This Friday, The Health Science Club will host another guest speaker, Ms. Ana Barrientos, PKY alum and future candidate to Medical School.  She will share her experiences getting ready to apply to med school as well as working in the local UF Equal Access Clinic Network.  If you are interested please join us this Friday at 2:40 pm in Dr. Cordero’s room.  Hope to see all interested then!

Blood Drive

One Blood will be here Sept 29- Oct 4 for sign up to donate blood on October 5. You will need a valid ID and be 16 or older. Sign up will be during high school lunch. If you have questions, see an NHS member or Dr. Bolejack.

HoCo Dance

Hey Blue Wave! The Homecoming dance is right around the corner on Friday October the 13th from 8:30-11:30. The theme is enchanted forest. 9-12 graders only! All tickets are available online through Hometown ticketing. $10 for students and guests’ tickets. $15 for admission and a souvenir ticket, or at the door for $20. If you want to be able to come, you  must be meeting expectations related to attendance, behavior and community service.  Make sure you are not on an attendance contract, you don’t have 5 or more behavior points and you have all your service hours done. 10th graders need 10 hours, 11th graders need 25 and 12th graders need 30 hours. If you are planning on bringing a guest, make sure you have filled out the form through Hometown ticketing by Oct. 9th. Tickets are on sale now through the 9th. Look for posters with the QR code or go to the student government’s Instagram page. Can’t wait to see you there!

Voter Registration Drive 

Attention all high schoolers age 16 and up:  Are you registered to vote? If not PK Student Government invites you to stop by the cafeteria any day from October 2nd to the 5th during high school lunch to register. All you need is your ID and the last four digits of your social security number. Register to vote so that you can make a difference. See you there!

Little Chef Club Help 

Attention freshman, sophomores, juniors, and seniors: Are you short on your community service hours? Are you looking for opportunities to get some more while on campus? The K/1 community is starting a Little Chef Book Club! They need some volunteers to help at their sessions who would be interested in committing every other Tuesday from 2:30-3:30. Opportunities run from October through April. If you are interested, reach out to Ms. James in the K/1 community for more information and to sign up.

Thespians 

Thespians New York City Fundraising Meeting will be held on Friday September 29th during HS lunch in Mrs. Hemmerich’s room. ALL GOING TO NYC ARE REQUIRED TO ATTEND!
