Congrats Football!

High-fives to the Blue Wave football team for their 22 – 20 defeat of Mount Dora Christian Academy on Friday night! They fought back from a 2TD deficit to come out on top. Way to go, Blue Wave! We are so proud of you! 

MS BBSU

The middle school club, Black and Brown Student Union will meet Monday afternoons from 2:40-3:10 at Orange 255.

DECA

Please come and be a part of DECA Wednesday during lunch. Great things are planned for this year. See you Wednesday in Mrs. Webber / Henry’s class!

Love for Our Elders

Love for our Elders members! We will meet Tuesday, September 12th during high school lunch to write letters and host elections in Kovach’s room. Be there and being a friend! 

BSU

PSA if you are interested in Black Student Union, the club is open to all students. Also the application deadline has been extended until Friday September 15th, and the writing portion is now considered optional. If you have any questions or need an application, please ask one of the council staff: Mya Tisdale, Naria James, Leah Ashley, Caleb Little, Ciara Madison or Eriel Ford.

Peer Tutoring 

Attention all high school students: Do you want to earn volunteer hours while helping another student succeed? Join Peer Tutoring. For all interested students, including those who have already spoken to Ms. Roach, please attend our first Peer Tutoring meeting on Monday, September 11th, during lunch in Ms. Roach’s room 312. 

National English Honors Society

The first national English Honors Society meeting will be held on 9/14 at 2:40pm in Mrs. Franklin’s room 336 green and any students in grades 11-12 interested in learning more should attend. 

Best Buddies

There will be a Best Buddies interest meeting for new members on Tuesday the 12th of September, in Mrs. Czyz’s room during lunch. If you want to learn more about the club, please come. Current members should also attend. 

Heroes Day 

September 11th is recognized in the State of Florida as 9/11 Heroes Day and students in classrooms around the state will be learning about the historic events of 9/11 today.  We will have informational assemblies as follows: 

  • 8:45-9:30am – Grades 10-12
  • 10:00-10:45 – Grades 8-9
  • 11:00-11:45 – Grades 6-7 

Teachers please escort your students to the PAC so that they are seated in time for the start of the presentation, and please remain with them throughout the presentation.  As you enter the auditorium, fill up the seats from the front to the back, keeping your class together. 

Grades 6 & 7, remember to bring your lunchboxes with you, as you will go straight to lunch after your presentation.

Students, please remember that this is an academic session and therefore cell phones should be silenced and put away.  Also, please remember to follow proper audience etiquette.  We want to treat the subject matter and our guest speaker with the utmost respect. Thank you!
