Campus Gates Open at 7:30am
August 13, 2023Student safety and security is our top priority. Beginning Monday, August 14, 2023, all gates to campus will not open until 7:30 a.m. including the 11th Street gate, 16th Street gate, and 6th Street gate. As student supervision does not begin until 7:30 a.m., gates will remain closed until that time.
Gainesville Police Department has posted “no parking anytime” signage on both sides of 11th Street. If our gates are closed and you are parked on the street, you are subject to receive a ticket. However, if our gates are open and traffic is at a standstill, you are in the clear. UF Police Department and our School Resource Officers will be checking in next week as well to help spread the word. Ticketing will begin at Gainesville Police Department’s discretion.
Gainesville Police Department has taken these measures to ensure the safety of residents, pedestrians, drivers, and our students. Please be respectful of our residential neighbors and do not block driveways, sidewalks, and intersections.
