Mrs. Burg has been teaching bands since 2001. Under Ms. Burg’s direction the Band has traveled five consecutive years to the Florida Marching Band State Championship. They were the 1st Runner up at the Tri-County Marching Band Invitational for two years running. In the past two years the band won 1st place in their division at 5 Regional contests, they received straight superior ratings at the Florida Bandmasters Association Festival.
Mrs. Burg plays many instruments, as most directors do, however she considers herself a professional clarinetist who tries to play violin too. She is currently a member of the Gainesville Community Band, and the Gainesville Pops! where she plays clarinet. She has been a clarinet soloist and has guest conducted both bands. She has also participated in many high school drama productions in the community.
