High School | National Art Honor Society
The National Art Honor Society (NAHS) is designed specifically for high school students in grades 9-12. In 1978, the National Art Education Association began the National Art Honor Society program to inspire and recognize students who have shown an outstanding ability and interest in art. The NAHS strives to aid members in attaining the highest standards in art scholarship, character, and service, and to bring art education to the attention of the school and community.
Schedule and criteria for membership
NAHS members meet Thursdays during high school lunch in my classroom beginning September 24th. Members are nominated and inducted into the club based on these criteria:
- Students must be in 9th-12th grade.
- Students must have taken at least one semester of art at our school.
- Students must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher in all art classes.
- Students who are not currently in an art class may participate as long as all other criteria are met.
