Attendance Notice
Students who are habitually absent, for excused and/or unexcused reasons, may receive an Attendance Notice and not be eligible to participate in extracurricular activities. Weekly reports are generated through Skyward related to attendance. The Attendance Notice will be regularly reviewed and monitored by school administration. Any changes to your attendance status will be communicated promptly. This notice is effective immediately upon receipt and will remain in effect for the duration of the school year. If the student’s attendance does not comply with school policies, the following consequences will occur: The student will be subject to progressive disciplinary action consistent with Florida Statutes Section 1003.24 and the P.K. Yonge Code of Student Conduct, including possible dismissal from P. K. Yonge.
Tardies
- When a student reaches five (5) tardies within one (1) period, there will be a conversation with the student and Behavior Coach/Administrator and the parent will be contacted.
- When a student reaches ten (10) tardies, the parent will be contacted again.
- When a student reaches fifteen (15) tardies, the parent will be contacted, and an Attendance Notice will be given by hard copy to the student and an email to parent.
- For every five (5) tardies after the attendance notice, the student will receive a referral for tardiness (1 point referral). The referrals may lead to progressive disciplinary action, up to dismissal from P. K. Yonge.
Absences
- When a student reaches five (5) unexcused absences within a semester, there will be a conversation with the student and Behavior Coach/Administrator, and the parent will be contacted.
