P.K. Yonge Students Outperform State Averages Across Subjects on 2026 FAST Assessments

P.K. Yonge Developmental Research School (listed as UF Lab School district in the FLDOE 2026 Results) is proud to announce outstanding results from the 2026 Florida Assessment of Student Thinking (FAST), with student performance significantly exceeding statewide averages across nearly every tested subject and grade level.

P.K. Yonge students demonstrated exceptional achievement in both English Language Arts (ELA) and Mathematics, with performance well above the 2026 state average.

Students at P.K. Yonge — a public school where enrollment is determined by lottery to reflect the student population of Florida — continue to demonstrate that excellence in education is possible in representative and inclusive learning environments.

Key Highlights Include:

  • ELA Proficiency:
    • 3rd Grade: 90% (vs. 60% statewide)
    • 6th Grade: 91% (vs. 62% statewide)
    • 10th Grade: 80% (vs. 61%)
  • Math Proficiency:
    • 4th Grade: 93% (vs. 65% statewide)
    • 5th Grade: 83% (vs. 62% statewide) 
    • 6th Grade: 100% (vs. 60% statewide)
    • 7th Grade: 96% (vs. 61%) 
      • a standout achievement considering all 7th grade students at P.K. Yonge take Grade 8 assessment.
    • 8th Grade: 80% (vs. 63%) 
      • a standout achievement considering all 8th grade students at P.K. Yonge take Algebra 1.
  • Science & Social Studies Excellence:
    • 8th Grade Science: 77% (vs. 52% statewide)
    • Biology: 92% (vs. 74% statewide)
    • 7th Grade Civics: 98% (vs. 77% statewide)
    • U.S. History: 88% (vs. 74% statewide)
