Powerschool and Data Privacy Policy
P.K. Yonge Developmental Research School may utilize educational technologies and communication tools provided through approved vendors, including PowerSchool, to enhance teaching, learning, and school operations.
PowerSchool provides schoolwide communication management including emails, phone calls, and SMS messaging.
Data Privacy and Security
PowerSchool processes student information under strict contractual obligations and privacy agreements with educational institutions. PowerSchool does not own or control student data and does not use or disclose customer data except as authorized by the educational institution and as permitted by contractual agreements.
PowerSchool may receive information from affiliated companies within the PowerSchool Group or from third parties and combine that information with customer data to support authorized educational services.
Educational Use of Student Information
PowerSchool does not use or disclose Customer Data except as authorized and required by P.K. Yonge. PowerSchool does not control or assume responsibility for information shared by the educational institution for educational purposes.
Questions regarding how student information is shared within the school environment should be directed to P.K. Yonge administration.
Children’s Privacy
PowerSchool does not share personally identifiable information from children under the age of 13 for advertising or marketing purposes.
For students under the age of 13, the collection, maintenance, and use of personal information through PowerSchool products are controlled by P.K. Yonge. P.K. Yonge serves as the governing authority for educational records and student information maintained through these services.
Parent and Student Rights
Parents and eligible students have the right to:
- Request information regarding student data collected through approved technologies.
- Review applicable student information maintained by the school in accordance with federal and state law.
- Request correction of inaccurate information.
- Request that the school discontinue participation in technology services where permitted and consistent with educational requirements.
- Inquire about the collection and use of student information through approved educational technologies.
Because PowerSchool does not control educational records, requests to review, correct, delete, or restrict the collection of student information must be submitted directly to P.K. Yonge. PowerSchool cannot modify or delete student information without authorization from the educational institution.
