AP Platinum Status

College Board announced that P.K. Yonge Developmental Research School has been recognized with Advanced Placement® (AP) Platinum status, the highest designation awarded through the College Board’s AP School Recognition Program. This distinction honors schools that demonstrate an exceptional commitment to increasing college-going culture, providing opportunities for students to earn college credit, and maximizing college readiness.

P.K. Yonge offers a robust selection of 28 Advanced Placement courses across disciplines, including English, mathematics, science, social studies, world languages, and the arts. These courses challenge students to develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills while earning potential college credit.

P.K. Yonge had 100% of seniors who took at least one AP Exam during high school, 83% of seniors scoring a 3 or higher on at least one AP Exam, and 39% of seniors who took five or more AP Exams!

In addition to its AP course offerings, P.K. Yonge is proud to offer the AP Capstone Diploma Program, a nationally recognized credential focused on research, analysis, collaboration, and communication. Students completing the AP Capstone Diploma engage in in-depth, interdisciplinary study through AP Seminar and AP Research, preparing them for the demands of college coursework and beyond.

“This recognition affirms the dedication of our faculty, the hard work of our students, and the support of families,” said Dr. Ashley Pennypacker Hill, P.K. Yonge secondary principal. “AP Platinum status highlights our commitment to providing rigorous, meaningful learning experiences that prepare students for success in college, careers, and civic life.”
