8th-Grade Level Up
In the spring, our 8th-grade students participate in special activities and events designed to help them transition smoothly into high school.
Underclassmen Awards
Each spring, 9th–11th grade students are celebrated for their academic achievements, highlighting their dedication and hard work.
Senior Awards
Graduating seniors are honored for their academic excellence, scholarships, and other accomplishments as they prepare to take the next step in their journeys.
Homecoming
Homecoming Week in the fall is a cherished tradition, full of school spirit, athletic recognitions, and community-building activities. Highlights include:
- High Tide Pep Rally: A spirited rally that celebrates fall sports, featuring skits and musical performances.
- Homecoming Parade: Involving the entire PreK-12 school community, the parade invites secondary students to represent their clubs and teams with the K/1 learning community proudly leading. The event is live-streamed for families to enjoy.
- Homecoming Dance: A night for 9th–12th grade students to dress up and celebrate together.
Prom
Each May, junior and senior students are invited to a memorable evening at Prom, celebrating the end of the school year with style and friendship.

Get ready to step into the magic, the rhythm, and the vibrant energy of Rio de Janeiro, because this year’s prom theme is… A NIGHT IN RIO!
On May 10th, we’re transforming Reitz Union ballroom into a dazzling carnival under the stars! Expect electrifying music, bold colors, and a night filled with excitement, dancing, and unforgettable memories!
So grab your most glamorous attire, bring your best moves, and prepare for a night like no other!
A Night in Rio is calling—will you answer? Buy your tickets here or from the QR codes posted around the school.
Make sure you don’t have any attendance, behavior, or academic notices as tickets are NON-REFUNDABLE.
If you are buying a guest ticket, you must buy it at the same time as your ticket.
Prom Details
- When: Saturday, May 10, 7:00-11:00 p.m.
- Where: Reitz Union Rion Ballroom
- Who: PKY Juniors and Seniors and their guests (one guest per PK student)
- Cost: $70 until April 30, $8- from May 1-10
- Need to know: Must not have an attendance, behavior, or academic notice.
- Must have completed and turned in community service hours by May 1.
- Requirements by grade:
- 9th grade – 10 service hours
- 10th grade – 25 service hours
- 11th grade – 50 service hours
- 12th grade – 75 service hours
- Tickets are NON-REFUNDABLE. If you purchase a ticket and do not meet the requirements, you will not be refunded the cost of the ticket.
Graduation
Graduating seniors conclude their time at P.K. Yonge with a commencement ceremony held at the UF Phillips Center for Performing Arts, celebrating their accomplishments and marking a new beginning.
