WHO IS ELIGIBLE?

Athletes interested in trying out must:

• Be in 6th–12th grade
• Maintain a minimum 2.0 GPA
• Attend PK Yonge, unless the athlete’s home school does not offer basketball cheerleading
• Be prepared to meet all program, practice, game, competition, and financial commitments if selected

REQUIRED HOME CAMPUS/FHSAA ACCOUNT

All prospective athletes and their parents/guardians must create and complete a Home Campus/FHSAA account.

Families are responsible for completing all required forms, videos, certificates, physical documentation, and other required athletic paperwork.

When selecting the athlete’s sports, please make sure you add:

TRYOUT DATES

Monday, October 12, 2026
Wednesday, October 14, 2026

Additional tryout details and times will be provided during the interest meeting.

TRYOUT ATTIRE

All athletes attending tryouts are required to wear:

• Plain white T-shirt
• Black shorts
• Tennis/athletic shoes
• Hair completely pulled back into a ponytail

Athletes should arrive dressed appropriately and ready to participate.

TRYOUT MATERIAL

Athletes are strongly encouraged to begin learning and practicing the tryout material BEFORE tryouts.

Tryout Dance:

Tryouts will evaluate athletes in the following areas:

• Motions
• Jumps
• Tryout cheer
• Tryout dance
• Overall performance and execution

It is extremely important that athletes take the time to learn and review the dance prior to tryouts.

While the coaching staff will review the material during the tryout process, athletes should not expect to learn the entire routine for the first time at tryouts.

Preparation will be extremely important.

TRYOUT RESULTS

Tryout results will be emailed by:

Wednesday, October 14, 2026, no later than 9:00 PM.

If selected, families should carefully review the athlete’s welcome email. It will contain important next steps, payment information, deadlines, ordering information, and additional program expectations.

PRACTICE SCHEDULE

Middle School, Junior Varsity, and Varsity teams will practice:

Mondays & Wednesdays
3:30 PM – 6:00 PM

Athletes selected for the program should be prepared to consistently attend all scheduled practices.

Additional practices may be scheduled when necessary, particularly for athletes participating on the competition team.

GAMES & EVENTS

Once the basketball schedule has been finalized, families will receive a complete calendar of required games and events.

Please understand that the season may also include additional school events, performances, competitions, and other team responsibilities.

Athletes and families are expected to plan accordingly once the official calendar is distributed.

COMPETITION TEAM

Athletes selected for the Junior Varsity  teams will also participate on the competition team. Athletes selected for Varsity basketball isn’t guaranteed a spot on The competitive team as spots are limited. 

Families should anticipate additional practices, competition entry fees, travel-related expenses, competition apparel and accessories, and other costs associated with competitive cheerleading.

Competition fees have not yet been finalized, so exact pricing is not available at this time. Families will receive detailed competition costs as soon as that information becomes available.

• Warm-up suit
• Team bag
• Cheer shoes
• Bloomers
• Poms
• Bows
• Team shirts
• Practice attire

Varsity

Athletes should expect to purchase:

• 2 uniforms
• Warm-up suit
• Team bag
• Cheer shoes
• Bloomers
• Poms
• Bows
• Team shirts
• Practice attire

Additional competition-related expenses will apply to athletes participating on the competition team.

ESTIMATED UNIFORM COSTS

Our Varsity representative is currently preparing the complete itemized list and final pricing. Therefore, the following amounts are ESTIMATES ONLY:

Middle School & Junior Varsity:
Approximately $200–$300 for one uniform

Varsity:
Approximately $300–$400 per uniform

Families should be prepared to purchase required uniforms no later than Friday, October 16, 2026.

Once finalized pricing for uniforms, apparel, accessories, and other required items is received, that information will be shared with families.

PAYMENT INFORMATION

A payment link will be included in each selected athlete’s welcome email.

All program payments will be made through an official payment link.

With the exception of the initial program payment, payments for required merchandise will be made directly to the appropriate company/vendor.

We understand that families need as much information as possible to plan financially. Although some final pricing is still being determined, we want to provide estimated costs and expectations in advance so families can make an informed decision before participating in tryouts.
