Boys Soccer Student Athletes Interest Meeting

6th-12th grade interest meeting will take place on September 30, arrival time 3:05-3:10pm, start of the meeting, 3:10pm.
Location: First floor, Blue, rooms 110 and 112.

Athletic Clearance

You MUST complete your Athletic Clearance at https://athleticclearance.fhsaahome.org. Note that everything is digital. No paperwork by October 10, no clearance, can’t make the team. Simple. This is the same requirement every year. No excuse. No exceptions.

• All student-athletes need an Athletic Clearance profile with a current physical, parental consent form, and NFHS certificates (must be dated after 7/1/25).
• On October 13, in the morning, coaches will get a list of cleared athletes and those who are not cleared won’t be allowed to try out.
• This system allows us access to emergency contact information and automates reminders for paperwork.

NFHS Courses: All student-athletes must complete the following courses on https://www.nfhs.org and upload the certificates to the Athletic Clearance portal.

• Concussion in Sports
• Heat Illness Prevention
• Cardiac Arrest
• Sportsmanship

Grades
The FHSAA requires all students to maintain a 2.0 unweighted GPA to be eligible for competition.

• “A high school student must have a cumulative 2.0 grade point average on a 4.0 unweighted scale, or its equivalent, at the conclusion of each semester to be academically eligible during the next semester. All high school level courses must be counted towards the student’s cumulative GPA, including those taken before the student entered high school.”
• “A middle/junior high student must have a 2.0 GPA, or the equivalent of a 2.0 GPA based on a 4.0 scale, at the conclusion of each semester.”

• There will be more systems in place to track grades a few times a semester to help with on-campus academic support for all students. Parents should log in periodically to Canvas to check grades and encourage students to take advantage of tutoring.

Tryouts

Tryouts will be held on the top soccer field on October 13-14. A total of 18 players will be chosen by team: Middle School, JV, and Varsity.

Middle School: 3:30pm – 5:15pm
Secondary School: 6:00pm – 8:00pm

Every student athlete must attend both days of tryouts and wear athletic clothes, cleats, NFHS Approved shin guards, and bring water.

*Practice days and times will be everyday, at the same location, same times for each age group.
