9th Grade Orientation – Wed., Aug. 5

Greetings 9th Grade Students and Families,   We’re excited to invite all incoming 9th grade students and families to our 9th Grade Orientation.  This special event is designed to help students and families feel confident at the beginning of this high school journey.  There will be an orientation for students and a separate orientation for parents.      While this orientation is optional, we highly encourage you to attend. It’s a great opportunity to get familiar with high school and feel prepared for the first day of school.   Student Orientation | Wednesday , August 5 | 8:45 am-Noon | Secondary Commons The Secondary Commons is located on the 1st floor of the secondary building.    Students will: 

• Meet the PK high school administration, 9th grade teachers, Behavior Coach, School Counselors, and Student Government
• Learn about graduation requirements and how to set meaningful goals
• Explore college and career opportunities with UF’s Career Connections Center and Santa Fe College 
• Discuss what it means to be part of our Blue Wave community—inside and outside the classroom

  Parent Orientation | Wednesday , August 5 | 8:45am-Noon | PK Performing Arts Center (PAC)  This is a chance to hear from our high school leadership team, including Dr. Ashley Pennypacker Hill, Secondary Principal, and Dr. Tredina Sheppard, Assistant Principal for Academic Achievement, Mrs. Schweim and Mrs. Butfiloski, the high school counselors, and our UF and Santa Fe partners. They will share important information about what to expect in high school, how our program works, and how you can support your student as they make this exciting transition. In addition to hearing about the high school program, we will also have tables with the our cafeteria, ESE department, UF Career Connections Center, Santa Fe Achieve, University Police Department, PK Athletics, PK Steel Eels, and PTO.    We look forward to getting to know you, answering your questions, and starting this new chapter together as partners in your child’s success.
