Loan Policy

Books are checked out for three weeks, and loans can be renewed. Visitors from the University of Florida may check out books and resources by presenting a Gator 1 Card.

All students receive Alachua County Public Library numbers. With these numbers, all students can check out up to three items, plus online items, from the public library.

All P.K. Yonge students have access to the Overdrive app on their Chromebooks, which allows them to download available eBooks from the public library with a current library card.

Library/Media Center Selection Policy & Library/Instructional Materials Consideration Requests

The P. K. Yonge Library/Media Center Selection Policy is a statement of the principles and guidelines used by the P.K. Yonge in the selection, acquisition, evaluation, and maintenance of curricular and Library/Media Center materials. It provides consistency in developing the collection and in communicating the Library/Media Center’s policies to the school community (students, faculty, staff, and families) and other interested stakeholders. It is understood that this document is fluid and that changes in the curriculum, demographics, information needs, or programs of the school will require updates to the collection and its governing policies.
