At P.K. Yonge, we believe every student deserves to thrive. That's why we offer robust tutoring assistance, from teacher help sessions and specialized test prep to a wealth of digital resources. Whatever you need to stay on track, we've got you covered.


  • Tutoring is offered for many subjects at P.K. Yonge. Students should reach out to their teachers and school counselors to find out tutoring options.
    Teachers offer weekly help sessions or help sessions by appointment.New Tutoring schedule available in August.
    The Varsity Tutors platform gives students opportunities for on-demand chat tutoring and on-demand essay review. These live resources can assist with questions about homework, classwork, or test prep and are accessible 24/7.

  • NHS students offer peer tutoring to middle school students.

  • Intensive group test prep tutoring sessions are offered after school by faculty.

    Other SAT/ACT Test Prep Resources

    Varsity Tutors College Prep: Visit the Varsity Tutors platform for a chance to increase your SAT and ACT test scores with self-paced classes and practice problems. Login through Clever. 

    Schoolhouse SAT Bootcamp: Preparing for the digital SAT? Attend a 4-week tutoring bootcamp on Schoolhouse, a non-profit founded by Sal Khan of Khan Academy. Parents must sign up for it to get consent for their student to participate. 

    Alachua County Library ACT/SAT Test Prep: under “research” – “databases” – “learning express”

    Khan Academy Test Prep: Khan Academy offers self-paced test prep modules and practice tests.

9th Grade Students

explore Xello to begin discovering their interests and strengths. This platform will help them start thinking about future careers and set personal goals for high school success. Logging in early will allow them to build a strong foundation for their academic and career planning journey.

10th Grade Students

use Xello to continue exploring career options and align them with their developing skills and academic interests. This is the perfect time to take career assessments and learn about the education pathways required for their goals, helping them make informed choices about coursework and extracurricular involvement.

11th Grade Students

use Xello to research colleges, training programs, and career fields in depth. Juniors can also begin building resumes, identifying scholarship opportunities, and planning the next steps needed for applications in their senior year.

12th Grade Students

actively use Xello as they finalize post-graduation plans. Seniors can review college and career options, complete application checklists, and access resources to prepare for life after high school, ensuring they transition smoothly to their chosen path.
