Good afternoon, Blue Wave. Today is Wednesday, February 4, 2026 Black History Month Fact Hey Blue Wave! Here is your Black History fact from the Black Student Union. In 1955, 14 year old Emmet Tills perpetrators were never convicted of the crime of killing him, despite the overwhelming evidence that pointed to the unlawful ending of his life. Additionally, the perpetrators later admitted to the murder, via lynching, of Emmitt Tills, describing all the gruesome acts they did to him. The FBI tried reopening the case but due to the double jeopardy law, they couldn’t be tried again for it.
