This is your central hub for staying informed and engaged in all things 2nd and 3rd grade! Here, you’ll find important updates, classroom news, key dates, and ways to stay connected with your child’s learning.

In our 2/3 community, students build on foundational skills while expanding their independence, critical thinking, and love for learning. Through hands-on projects, collaborative experiences, and real-world problem-solving, we nurture curiosity, confidence, and creativity.

Field Trips

The 2/3 Learning Community takes field trips annually that support their learning. These could include the Florida Aquarium, the Santa Fe Zoo, and more.

Entrepreneurship

Students in the 2/3 Learning Community host their own button and card company. They design and make their own buttons and cards and sell them at PK events.

2/3 Learning Community Leadeer

Dicy Watson

Assistant University School Professor

Dicy is the 2nd and 3rd grade Learning Community Leader at P.K. Yonge. She started teaching in 2007 and joined the P.K. Yonge family in 2013. Having experience in both public and international school settings, Dicy has worked with students from 2nd-6th grade. Dicy earned both a bachelor’s degree and master’s degree in elementary education from the University of Florida. Her passion for literacy development shows through her extensive work in helping students develop a lifelong love for reading. Dicy works hard to build a classroom community where all students feel safe to take risks and grow as learners. Outside of school, Dicy enjoys spending time with her husband John and their four children, Tristan, Rafe, Finn, and Littlest Dicy. She enjoys photography and loves to travel to new places with her family. Dicy lives in High Springs, FL, where you can often find her enjoying nature.
