P.K. Yonge Developmental Research School is proud to announce the appointment of Israel Wilcox as its new Varsity Head football coach. A seasoned leader with more than 30 years of coaching experience, Wilcox brings experience, energy, and a clear vision for the future of the program.

“I, Israel Wilcox, have a deep passion for P.K. Yonge, the game of football, student success, and program development. Most importantly, I am committed to the values and tradition of P.K.Y.,” said Wilcox. “This is a special opportunity, and I’m looking forward to working with our players, staff, and community to build something we can all be proud of.” 

Wilcox’s impact extends well beyond the field. He founded the F.A.T.S. (Furthering Adolescent Tutoring and Sports) mentoring program, focused on guiding young individuals through both academics and athletics. He also led the “My Brother’s Keeper” basketball program, helping build well-rounded student-athletes through discipline, teamwork, and accountability.

Throughout his career, Wilcox has been influenced by respected coaching figures, including Coach John Clifford and Randall Leath, whose emphasis on structure, excellence, and tradition helped shape his leadership philosophy and approach to program development.

“Coach Wilcox brings not only experience, but a clear vision for restoring the pride and tradition of our football program,” said Kelly Barrett “His dedication to mentorship, organization, and player development makes him the ideal leader for our student-athletes.”

Wilcox will begin his role immediately as he prepares the team for the upcoming season.
