Today is , September 19, and it is an A Day.

Hello Seniors! Saturday, September 28 from 9 A.M. to 12 P.M., seniors will be painting their parking spots! Come to the senior class government meeting September 19 in Lemstrom’s room to reserve your spot. You will need to bring $10 cash to the meeting, and bring your own paint and brushes on the day of painting. First come first serve for spots, so make sure you are at this meeting! For more information look at the flyers posted around school or talk to your senior class government! You must already have a parking decal from the business office in order to reserve a senior parking spot.

Do you love science? Do you love competing? Join Science Olympiad! Any high school student interested in joining the Science Olympiad team should stop by room Q-502, Mrs. Davis’s room (Dr. MacDonald’s old room), to pick up a permission form. Permission forms are due by TODAY.

Do you have brothers, sisters, cousins, parents, aunts, uncles, or even grandparents who went to PK, too? Our yearbook wants to feature PK families this year. Check out the link on the yearbook page and fill out the survey if you want to be a part of the PK Families page in the yearbook!

Mandatory rehearsals continue Thursday from 2:30-3:30 for all the students participating in the cultural day on September 27.

TECA (taquitos, empanadas, croquetas and arepas will be this week TODAY. Please come by the gym and support the Hispanic Honor Society.

Key Club is holding a hurricane relief drive through Friday, September 27th. Please bring in donations of baby items, metal nails, toiletries, feminine hygiene products, blankets, batteries, canned goods, and gallons of water to Mr. Lemstrom in K-332 or Ms. Andrews in O-362.

Acts of Random Kindness club is sponsoring Start with Hello Week activities (Sept 23rd – 27th). The purpose is to maximize the feelings of community and connection that PKY is known for.
Monday and Tuesday:  Human Bingo
Middle School English teachers will pass out the Human Bingo Game Form (examples: find a person who does not live in Gainesville, find a person who is new to PKY, etc.). Fill the sheet with different signatures from students who fit the criteria. Return the completed sheet to Mrs. Ireland by 9/27 for the chance to win a prize!
Wednesday: Fave day
Everyone !! Wear an article of clothing that displays something that is important to you. Reach out to classmates you do not know well to learn more about their clothing choice during lunch, in the hall, or after school.
Thursday:Random act of Kindness Day
Go out of your way to do something nice for someone else.
Start With Hello Wall
Write your favorite conversation starters on the banner in the cafeteria during lunch.
We hope you all participate in these activities!

Bake Sale!
Funds raised will go to rebuild in the Bahamas after Hurricane Dorian. Middle School Kindness Club (ARK) is hosting this baked goods sale.
Date: Monday, Sept 23rd.
Time: After School
Location: Near Gym
Remember to bring money on Sept 23rd. Help rebuild after this destructive hurricane & enjoy a delicious treat!

Speech and Debate will be meeting on Tuesday, September 24 at 2:30pm in Ms. Andrews’ classroom in the elementary building. This is a mandatory meeting. Email Ms. Natalie Andrews with any questions!

Performing Arts Students: All Yankee Candle fundraiser orders must be submitted by TODAY or absolutely NO LATER than Monday 9/23. Thank you.

AT THE END OF ANNOUNCEMENTS, AFTER THE PLEDGE, HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS will be selecting members of the homecoming court:
9th grade students, please go to Mr. Lemstrom’s class page to complete the nomination form. 10th grade students, please go to Mr. Linne’s class page, 11th grade students, please go to Mr. Kovach’s page, and seniors, please go to Mr. Fabulich’s page. Click on the link to complete the Google Form. Teachers, please allow students to complete this task right after the announcements have concluded. The links will only be live until 8:30 AM.
