Who is Yearbook and School Newspaper?

Students in Journalism 1, 2, and 3 are the creative force behind both the school yearbook, The Yongester, and the student newspaper, The Wave Watch.

Through these courses, students gain hands-on experience in all aspects of publishing — including writing, editing, photography, layout design, interviewing, and digital production. Journalism 1 introduces the fundamentals of reporting and visual storytelling. In Journalism 2, students take on more advanced roles, contributing in-depth articles, leading creative projects, and learning principles of editorial leadership. Journalism 3 offers an opportunity for experienced students to serve as editors, manage production timelines, mentor younger staff, and shape the overall vision of each publication. Together, these classes offer a dynamic, real-world learning experience that promotes collaboration, critical thinking, and media literacy.
