Emma Mansfield, P.K. Yonge Developmental Research School senior, has been selected to the FHSAA Florida Dairy Farmers Academic All-State Team. This award honors 24 graduating seniors from around the state who excel in both athletics and academics. The Florida Dairy Farmers Academic All-State Team will honor the All-State Team and select two 2025 Scholar-Athletes of the Year in June.
Mansfield is a 4.0 student-athlete ranked 18th in her class and played four years of varsity softball, baseball, and soccer.
“Emma has mastered what it means to be a scholar-athlete at P.K. Yonge, and is now being recognized among the best-of-the-best academically and athletically. Her journey is a testament to her dedication, time management, and an unrelenting drive to excel. She leads with grit, competes with heart, and learns with purpose. Emma’s success reflects not only her individual commitment, but also the values and balance that define her family and P.K. Yonge’s academic and athletics program,” said Valerie Flournoy, P.K. Yonge athletic director.
Mansfield’s recognitions extend beyond the classroom and into athletics. Mansfield was the first female in P.K. Yonge history to start a varsity baseball game, was a member of the first final four girls soccer team in school history, and has signed to play softball at Jacksonville University.
“I grew up on the sidelines, watching my brother play baseball, and from a young age, I knew I wanted to be out on the field too. The early passion grew into a love not just for baseball, but also for softball and soccer. Being a scholar-athlete has taught me so much, but my parents always made it clear that academics come first–because that’s what will carry me through life. I’m incredibly thankful for my parents, siblings, and the many coaches who have supported me along the way, none of this would be possible without them. I’m truly honored to receive this award. It reflects the hard work I’ve put in both in the classroom and on the field,” said Mansfield.
In addition to her academic and athletic accomplishments, Mansfield is a member of National Honor Society and Key Club and coaches youth baseball.
“Emma has been one of PK’s most successful student-athletes over the last four years. She has consistently challenged herself on the fields and in the classroom. Her success in both is largely due to her hard work and determination. Even when material is challenging, Emma remains positive and sticks with until she has it mastered. She has been exciting to watch in games and true pleasure to teach over the last four years,” said Kevin Fabulich, P.K. Yonge AP US Government and AP Microeconomics teacher.
