Elementary School Events
At our elementary school, we host a variety of events throughout the year to build a strong, vibrant community. Here’s a look at some of the special activities our students and families can look forward to:
Homecoming Parade
Being part of a PreK-12 campus brings a unique sense of spirit during Homecoming Week. Our elementary students enjoy watching the parade, with kindergarten and 1st-grade students leading the way as the “lions, tigers, and bears.” It’s a fantastic opportunity for younger students to see older peers in the Marching Band, on floats, and to cheer them on!
Book Fairs
We host Scholastic Book Fairs throughout the year, offering students a chance to explore new books and grow their love of reading. These week-long fundraisers are highly anticipated by all.
Elementary Dances
Our learning communities come together to host seasonal dances for elementary students, including a Halloween Dance, Winter Formal, and Valentine’s Day Dance. Each learning community collaborates on decorations and themes, creating a magical experience for students and families alike.
Elementary Thanksgiving Feast
Our annual Thanksgiving Feast is held the Thursday before Thanksgiving. Families are invited to enjoy a traditional Thanksgiving lunch with their students, provided by our wonderful cafeteria team.
Elementary Family Picnic
Held the Friday before spring break, the Elementary Family Picnic is a celebration of our school community. With music, games, and entertainment, it’s a joyful time to gather and share in the PK experience.
Peek Across the Creek Series
Throughout 5th grade, students participate in the “Peek Across the Creek” series to prepare for the transition to middle school. They tour the secondary campus, meet 6th-grade students, learn about electives, and get ready for the next step in their education.
Cross the Creek Ceremony
The end of 5th grade is marked by our “Cross the Creek” ceremony, where students symbolically and physically cross Tumblin’ Creek, moving from elementary to middle school. Families are invited, and the high school pep band adds a festive spirit to the celebration.
5th Grade Washington, D.C. Trip
Each spring, our 5th graders have the chance to explore Washington, D.C. Fundraising throughout the year supports this memorable trip, where students experience our nation’s capital firsthand.
Field Trips
Each grade level and learning community plans enriching field trips that enhance classroom learning. These trips create lasting memories and build real-world connections to what students learn in school.
These events are just a glimpse into the community-building experiences we offer to enrich student life and foster school spirit!
