2/3 at PK

The 2nd and 3rd Grade Learning Community at P.K. Yonge School builds on the foundation laid in the earlier grades, fostering a deep love of learning and exploration. In 2/3, we emphasize the importance of nurturing each child's academic growth alongside their social, emotional, and behavioral development. Our goal is to cultivate independent thinkers who are eager to ask questions and solve problems, demonstrating resilience and a growth mindset.

Ways we are UNIQUE:

Our new 2nd grade “Farm-to-School” garden Initiative allows students to explore the wonders of nature, teaching them about plant life cycles, sustainability, and the joy of growing their own food. The produce grown in our garden is served in our school cafeteria, promoting healthy eating habits and a sense of accomplishment.
We have a student-run Card Company, where children design, produce, and sell greeting cards and buttons, learning valuable entrepreneurial skills and the importance of teamwork and creativity.
