Good afternoon, Blue Wave. Today is Tuesday, November 4, 2025
Holocaust Remembrance Week
This week, our school is observing Holocaust Remembrance Week. Each day, we’ll share a short fact to honor the memory of those who suffered and to remind us of the importance of tolerance, empathy, and standing up against hate.
The Holocaust was the systematic murder of six million Jewish people by Nazi Germany and its collaborators between 1941 and 1945. Millions of others, including Roma people, people with disabilities, and political prisoners, were also persecuted. Remembering the Holocaust helps ensure such hatred and violence never happen again. During the Holocaust, over one million Jewish children were killed. Many others were hidden by brave families who risked their lives to protect them. Their courage reminds us of the power of compassion and standing up for what is right, even when it’s dangerous.
