Today’s weekly Black History Fact. Did you know that Dr. James Weldon Johnson - born in Jacksonville, he wrote Lift Every Voice and Sing, known as the black national anthem, and became the first black executive secretary of the NAACP.
Football Senior Night
Hey Blue Wave! This Friday, October 17th, is senior night for football, band, and cheer! Come out and support your blue wave teams. The student section theme is orange and blue. Senior celebrations begin at 6:30 and the game starts at 7. Show up and show out!
Softball
Attention Softball players. There will be an interest meeting on Tuesday, October 21st at 3:15pm at the cafeteria with new Head Coach Mike Whelan. If you are interested in playing softball please come to that meeting.
Girls Soccer
Attention, PK Girls Soccer players! Tryouts are this week! All tryouts will be held on the top field. Tryouts for middle school and varsity are on Monday and Tuesday, 3:30-5:30, on Wednesday at 2:00-3:30 for middle school and 3:30-5:30 for varsity. Varsity tryouts will also be held on Thursday, 3:30-5:30. You MUST have your athletic clearance completed in order to try out. Bring cleats, shin guards, and your own water!
MS Baseball
Attention, middle school baseball players!
Baseball season is coming soon! There will be an interest meeting for all middle school baseball players on Thursday, October 16, in the first floor Green Wing from 3:05 to 3:25 p.m.
If you’re in 6th, 7th, or 8th grade and want to play baseball this season, make sure to attend the meeting to learn about tryouts, registration, and the upcoming season.
Letterman Jacket
Did you miss the first letter jacket fitting? There will be a 2nd fitting on Friday, October 24th during lunch by the art wing. Pick-up your order from from the main office and come with payment to turn in on fitting day to place your order.
