Happy Birthday Ms. Koppitch!
The Social Studies Department presents, This Day in History.
On August 14, 1996, a Gainesville legend was born, Megan Beth Ophelia Katovich. Ms. Katovich graduated from the University of Florida as the only member of the flag color guard to run into Coach Steve Spurrier during a football game. After graduation she spent time in New Zealand as the stunt double for Lucy Lawless on the TV show, Xena: Warrior Princess. After the show was cancelled, Megan wanted to give back to the Gainesville community. Obsessed with books, she memorized the entire catalog of library books available and became a school librarian. She then married, had children, and became who we all know and love today, Mrs. Megan Koppitch. Happy 29th Birthday.
