Good afternoon, Blue Wave. Today is Friday, February 6, 2026 Important Traffic and Safety Reminders Student Drivers - listen up for a very important announcement! Students have been parking in the handicapped spaces in the top parking lot.  This needs to stop immediately. Parking in a handicapped space without a handicapped decal will incur a $500 fine. Another important announcement - Students should not be climbing over chain-link fences to exit campus. This is a disciplinary issue that will result in a referral. We want you to be safe and climbing over fences is not safe. Congrats Girls Tennis Congratulations to the girls tennis team who defeated Trinity Catholic 7-0 yesterday to open up the season.  Good luck Tuesday versus Eastside. Congrats Baseball Congratulations to the varsity boys basketball team who defeated Oak Hall yesterday in the district semi-final.  The boys will host the district championship game on Saturday at 6pm. Go Blue Wave! BSU Black History Fact Hey Blue Wave! Here is your Black History Fact for Black History Month from the Black Student Union. George Washington Carver was the first African American to enroll at Iowa State University. He later received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from there. SAT/ACT Tutoring Reminders Attention high school students who registered: If you are planning to attend SAT/ACT tutoring tomorrow, please remember to bring your Chromebook and charger so you can fully participate in the session. Battle of Belts  PK Yonge HOSA is hosting Battle of Belts, we are behind Gainesville High school but leading Bucholz High with the highest percentage of drivers on our campus wearing seatbelts. Let's buckle up PK everyone in the car should have on a seatbelt.  Attention all students: Buckling up is one of the easiest ways to protect yourself and your passengers while riding in a car. So let’s all make a commitment to wear our safety belts every time we get in a car—and encourage our friends and family to do the same. Literary Magazine Interested in being featured in the first edition of PK’s secondary Literary Magazine? Look for the blue flyers around campus and scan the QR code to submit a piece of original writing or visual artwork. Accepting submissions through spring break. We look forward to seeing the talent and individuality that the PK community has to share!  Valentines Grams Time to get you, your friend, or that special valentine a treat for Valentines day. Valentines grams will be on sale at lunches Feb 5 - Feb 12. The cost is $3. SGA Voting Attention current 7th through 11th grade students! Voting ballots for student government officers and senators are open and were sent through Canvas email! Please vote for your grades senators and student body officers. Voting closes February 10th.   Spring Market Heads up PK! The Spring market is quickly approaching! At Spring Market, we’ll have some volunteer organizations to promote volunteer participation for rising high-schoolers! Remember to tell your club sponsors to sign up soon by February 28, as the Spring Market will take place on March 4 from 7:40-8:25 AM. Grad Bash Attention Seniors: This is the LAST WEEK to purchase your Grad Bash tickets. Seniors can pick up necessary documents from the main office. Signed forms and payments are due to the Cashier’s office by this Friday, February 13th. Jeremiah's Italian Ice Attention! Jeremiah’s Italian Ice is at the top circle this Friday, from 3:00-4:30 PM and every Friday school is in session.
