P.K. Yonge 7th grade student Brie Gamble creates seasonal, handmade coloring books through her business Brie’s Custom Designs. She was recently awarded a $1,000 grant for young entrepreneurs through Formidable Fellowship. Formidable Fellowship is a non-profit that supports middle and high school students that have built businesses and embrace entrepreneurship.
Gamble takes middle school digital design classes with Mr. DiFranco and is a member of the PK chapter of the American Institute of Graphic Arts (AIGA). She is looking forward to joining the entrepreneurship and digital design pathway in high school.
“I love being a part of AIGA. It makes me more creative with what we do around the school and it gets me excited for the entrepreneurship and digital design pathway in high school,” said Gamble.
Gamble hand illustrates each page of her coloring books and prints them at home. She sells her seasonal coloring books at pop-up events around Gainesville. The grant she was awarded will help to fund a higher quality printer for her business.
“Brie has a beautiful blend of thoughtfulness and creativity. I’m excited to see where her talents take her,” said P.K. Yonge Middle School Digital Design Instructor Luigi DiFranco.
