Marine Science Honors

Welcome to Marine Science!

Marine Science, Honors is an interdisciplinary course. Students will learn about the geology, chemistry, physics and biology of the ocean environment. The first semester of study will emphasize the physical ocean. Second semester will focus on marine biology and ocean ecology. The curriculum will also be used as a vehicle to inspire each student to become a more scientifically literate citizen through the development of scientific habits of mind. These include questioning the way in which the world works, and the development of critical thinking and problem solving skills. Readings, projects and laboratory/field investigations with written laboratory reports will be assigned to improve scientific literacy. Ms. Andrews can be contacted at randrews@pky.ufl.edu
