Musical Theatre
Welcome to Musical Theatre!
The only truly American art form: Musical Theatre. When the words can’t transport the moment any further, the song and dance begins. Musical Theatre combines acting, singing, and dancing to tell the story. The combination of these skills is what brings the show to life!
High School Students can audition for the fall play, AX OF MURDER, and the spring musical, GODSPELL!

AX OF MURDER: Performances: October 12-15
A haunted play? “Not possible,” theater director Bonnie Bagwell tells her troupe, despite the writer’s stories of a trail of horror that has cursed his script, Ax of Murder. As the troupe forges ahead with the play, it begins to change with every performance, mirroring their theater and even the specific actors. But when a police sergeant shows up stating he was called in on a murder, people begin to wonder. Wonder turns to fear when someone is murdered onstage! And it seems as if nobody could have done it. No “body,” that is, but perhaps a ghost ….

GODSPELL
Performances: February 15-18
Prepare ye for the timeless tale of friendship, loyalty and love. Based on the Gospel according to Matthew, Godspell is the first show from award winning composer Stephen Schwartz who went on to write such well-known hits as Wicked, Pippin, and Children of Eden. The show features a comedic troupe of eccentric players who team up with Jesus to teach his lessons in a new age through parables, games, and tomfoolery.
Godspell features the international hit, “Day by Day”, as well as an eclectic blend of songs ranging from pop to vaudeville, as Jesus’ life is played out onstage. Even after the haunting crucifixion, Jesus’ message of kindness, tolerance and love lives vibrantly on.
