Zerrin Martin is active as a conductor and mezzo-soprano. Prior to her appointment at P.K. Yonge, she was the Director of Choral and Vocal Music at the Tower Hill School in Delaware for nine years. In 2019, she was voted as one of Delaware Today’s Top Teachers. She has presented at the Delaware American Choral Director’s Association State Conference, and in 2019, her 7thand 8th Grade Concert Choir from Tower Hill School presented a solo concert at the NAfME All-Eastern Division Conference in Pittsburgh, PA. Between 2011-2016, she was the Director of the Trouvères and Troubador choirs with the Pennsylvania Girlchoir in Philadelphia. Her recent solo engagements include Copland’s In the Beginning, Handel’s Messiah, Mendelssohn’s Elijah, Haydn’s Lord Nelson Mass, Mozart’s Coronation Mass, Buxtehude’s Membra Jesu Nostri, and Bach’s St. Matthew Passion. An avid ensemble singer, she has performed with numerous choral ensembles, such as twice Grammy®-nominated Seraphic Fire, True Concord Voices, the Norfolk Music Festival Chamber Choir, The Crossing, Westminster Choir, Westminster Kantorei, the JSB Ensemble of the Internationale Bachakademie in Stuttgart, Germany, and the Weimar Backakademie in Weimar, Germany. She regularly performs with the Santa Fe Desert Chorale and the Oregon Bach Festival Chorus. Ms. Martin holds degrees in voice performance and choral conducting, respectively from the University of Michigan and Westminster Choir College.
